Verisign adds 1 million .com/.net domains in Q1 - NiceNIC.NET

  Domain registry Verisign   ups the lower end of its revenue guidance for the year.   Verisign (NASDAQ: VRSN) reported first quarter earnings this afternoon.   The company ended the quarter with 174.8 million   domains   in the .com/.net base, which was 1.0 million more than it ended 2022. 161.6 million of those are .com domains.   It processed 10.3 million domains in the quarter, compared to 10.2 million in the same quarter a year ago.   Q1 revenue clocked in at $364 million, up 5.1% from the same quarter in 2022. Net income was $179 million.   For the year, Verisign raised the lower end of its revenue guidance. It ' s now guiding to $1.490 billion to $1.505 billion; narrowed from $1.485 billion to $1.505 billion. CentralNic reports Q1, announces Microsoft deal and board changes - NiceNIC.NET

  CentralNic Company diversifies revenue stream with Microsoft deal.   Domain name   and online advertising company rollup CentralNic (London AIM: CNIC) released news this morning.   First, on the earnings front, the company expects to report $194.9 revenue for Q1 when the official tally is complete. That ' s up 24% year over year. It says gross profit was $45.8 million, and its Adjusted EBITDA number will be $21.3 million. Those are each increases of 15% year over year.   Second, the company has inked an ad deal with Microsoft Bing that will help diversify its revenue. Last year, Google ads were responsible for a substantial part of the company ' s monetization. It accounted for 68% of total revenue, up from about 50% in 2021, and nearly all of that was ad revenue (only a tiny portion was from Google Domains for the domain business).
